Riding the storm of life ~ Inner Peace

Inner peace is all about coping. If the unpleasant and painful memories remain too long with us, we will not make the transition that we are called to make from restless non-acceptance to quiet acceptance.

Riding the storm of life ~ Inner Peace

We do not have to go to the foot of the Himalayas to attain inner peace. We also do not need to renounce everything before attaining quietude. Instead, we can live day to day in inner quietude. If we look at all of life’s experiences and their disturbing content with inner eyes, the disturbances we undergo will remain at the periphery. Deep down there will be an emotional quiet.

Inner peace is all about coping. If the unpleasant and painful memories remain too long with us, we will not make the transition that we are called to make from restless non-acceptance to quiet acceptance.

We are in a win-win situation when we accept the challenge of living, discriminating how far we should go along a certain track, who we should relate to in more intimate terms and those we need to distance because their values are so desperate from our own.

If we are self-sacrificing and wise, we will remain calm and tranquil despite the provocations we face. We do not avoid difficult people and circumstances, but learn to deal with them by distancing ourselves from them and building on relationships that bring happiness.

Withdrawal is an option but it would lead to disengagement and non-involvement and that does not bring required results. The inner peace we crave comes after traversing a long passage. Learning with experience, we begin to take things in our stride. It’s not all that easy, though.

There are many ways to cultivate and build on inner peace. We could set some time aside daily for prayer and meditation. Disproportionate understanding can blow up the way we perceive things. We could spend quiet time in the garden, in silent communication with plants and trees. We endure life’s storms and learn to absorb its shocks and we find that we are, in fact, in the midst of all these circumstances, communing with God, a tangible presence in our lives.

Coping is not just reactive, it’s proactive too. We pick up the mantle thrown to us and practice patience, detachment, endurance, serenity and acceptance of all that comes our way. To overcome obstacles and difficulties we need to develop coping skills that encompass mental and spiritual needs.

The only difference between the wise and the foolish is that the wise learn to cope with reality and transform it and the foolish get swept away by the ups and downs of life.

Life is uncertain; it is unpredictable. It is also unfair, it seems. But in learning to cope with all the ups and downs of life, we begin to live a full life.

There is the parable of the wise man in the gospels who built his house on rock. It withstood all the rains and storms. On the other hand, the man who built his house on sand watched his house get destroyed in the rain and storm. Hence, we need to cultivate rock-like resilience and welcome attributes that will help us to cope. The reward of inner strength is inner peace. Right here, in your living room, your workplace in your family will find inner peace. We do not have to look too far.

Once we learn to cope, the going will be easier and there will be no need to hide our real selves. We will be able to stand up and meet life on our own terms. And experience the fulfilment of a pilgrimage well weathered.

Unconditional Love Part 5 – Life Experiences – Choice – Karma

The ultimate goal of the soul is to seek, to experience, and to understand the marvellous wonder of existence. Enlightenment is achieved when one finds  perfection and unconditional love in all experiences. This progresses through eons of time, with each lifetime gaining, unfolding, and developing new  awareness every experience of every lifetime adds to the whole of the soul. You are forever expanding  and accumulating information consciously and unconsciously.

Although our physical being does not, the soul remembers in perfect detail every experience  ever had; every thought ever thought; every word, feeling, smell, scene, and  taste ever known. It all is categorized and remembered. This creates a  particular energy: The energy of you.

There is a cause and effect inherent in everything, including thoughts. The soul not only seeks experience,  it also seeks itself. The soul is the divinity of God and unconditional love incarnate. The secret of life is not in pointing fingers at everybody else and  judging their behaviours or beliefs, but in looking closely at self and noticing  what choices you make for yourself and where those choices take you.

Are they  based in fear or love? Are they for your highest good? Are you adding positively or negatively to life as a whole, including all life on the planet? This, my friend, is a full time job. Do not worry  about what you have done; stay focused on what you are doing. Karma is balanced  through love. Love is the most powerful  and greatest energy of the universe, and it will positively affect even the most  adverse situations. It is the ultimate healer. It is God. It can be used to heal  and balance any situation in the universe.

The universe is based on and  created from love. Anything not of love will create an imbalance, and the  universe will strive to put this energy into balance. This balancing is not  about punishment and reward, but it is about natural consequences. Striking out  at others, grievances, unforgiveness, hatred, violence, anger, fear, and  jealousy all have an energy to them, and there will be a reaction if this is the  energy you choose to display.

This energy is real and will affect you even if your attitudes remain as thoughts only. You will feel the effects of your  negative attitudes and actions because they will become enormous obstacles to  the growth of your soul. Make note that I am not saying these attitudes are  wrong, but that they do constitute an extremely dense energy that will inhibit  your own enlightenment. Remember, to seek enlightenment is to seek love.

The enlightenment of the soul is based in love and walking the spiritual path  from the heart. Being aware and conscious means making deliberate choices to exhibit love, no matter what situation or life condition you find yourself in.  This change always involves personal work  and commitment to the process of change.

It can be complex, and you may feel  like you are beating your head against a wall. Truly, the soul is complex, vast,  immortal, interconnected, and multifaceted. This makes healing and change also  complex and vast. However, when you are working with love as a tool, you are  using the most powerful force in the universe, and the results can be  miraculous.

I have personally found that when I feel blocked in my own  growth, it is often wise to seek someone who works with energy and is not  invested in my personal issues. This helps achieve clarity. Spiritual growth can  often be facilitated by someone who works with energy and the healing of the soul. In some situations, our obstacles might stem from soul loss that occurred  earlier in life or from circumstances of another lifetime and are not present in our conscious mind.

The spirits have taught me that the care of the soul is the first concern, and that the soul is a composite of all that you have ever  experienced in all lifetimes. This complexity of the soul creates multiple levels of healing and makes growth possible.

When you die these 7 things happen to you…

When you die these 7 things happen to you... Chances are, if you were brought up in a religious background you believe that there are only 2 places you can go: Heaven and Hell.

What happens to us when we die? Where does our soul go?

Chances are, if you were brought up in a religious background you believe that there are only 2 places you can go: Heaven and Hell. If you are a good person and believe the right things, you spend eternity in Heaven. If you are a sinful person, you spend an eternity in hell.  Thankfully, this is a false dichotomy.

On top of the fact that it doesn’t even make sense to think about only 2 options (both of which are eternal), there has been a lot of scientific investigation into what happens when people leave their bodies when it dies and then return after experiencing time in the spirit world. Thousands of near-death experiences have given us the information we need to form a more accurate picture of what awaits us on the other side.  Some do report hellish realms, and almost all report heavenly realms, but there is another side of the coin here that needs to be addressed.

Dr. Michael Newton is a psychologist who specialized in hypnotherapy, where he would put people into hypnosis to bring out any past traumas they experienced in their lives and walk them through the memories into healing.  He soon discovered that he was able to bring people back so far into their memories that they were remembering things that weren’t even taking place in this life anymore.  They were taking place in between lives.

In his books Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls (which together have sold over half a million copies) he shares case studies that he has gathered over the course of four decades of bringing people back into the memories of their souls journey.  Surprisingly, they all said the exact same things, and coincided very nicely with a lot of the NDE accounts that have occurred.  Here are 7 things which these two fields of study have strongly suggested happen to us when we die:

1) Life Flash

life before your eyes

An extremely common phenomenon within people who are dying is that they see their entire life flash before their eyes.  The brain snaps into hyper-speed mode and starts revisiting your memory databank before your soul separates from your body.

2) You can see your body

soul leaves body

Many people will see their physical body right as they exit it at the moment that consciousness disconnects from the physical body.  You will be able to see your surroundings and the things that are happening around your dead body.  This will not scare you however, because it will feel as natural as anything.  Some people report feeling frustrated or angry over the way they died and wishing that they could go back into their body to seek revenge, but this feeling passes with time as you begin to fall into the Light.

3) The Light

People always report seeing a light when they die.  The light appears off in the distance, and you will slowly be pulled towards it, almost as if you are being pulled by a magnet.  The light is always accompanied by a sense of love and peace.  This is your transition phase back to your home in the spirit world.

4) Seeing dead relatives

dead relatives

Right when you enter into the spirit world after being pulled through the light, you are greeted by loved ones who are there to embrace you and comfort you.  It’s sort of like a reunion.  These are not necessarily your relatives from your current earth life. They may be family members of yours from previous lives who have been with you throughout your whole souls evolution. Essentially, you have family members you don’t currently know about from a totally different bloodline who will greet you as you enter the spirit world.  You will, of course, remember their names and recognize their faces upon return.

It’s important to note here that the souls will take on the image they had in physical form to create a sense of home and familiarity for you.  Souls don’t look like they did on earth necessary.  The body is just a body. The soul is formless, but can take various shapes to serve different purposes.  It is said that advanced souls who have lived many lives don’t necessarily have relatives that greet them, because they understand what the spirit world is about and have been through many times before.  It is said in the books that advanced souls sometimes skip this step because it is not needed for them.

5) Guardian Angels/Spirit Guides

guardian angel spirit guide

You have your own assigned guardian angel, or ‘spirit guide’ depending on which term you like to use better.  Whatever you wish to call them, you will encounter your guide in the spirit world and they will comfort you and make you feel at home.  But, this is also the time where the fun and games are over.  After you experience some of the heavenly realms, duty begins to call. Your guide has been with you and watching you throughout your life, and wants to go over some things with you.  It’s time to take out your report card from the life you just lived:

6) Life Review

life review

You meet with your angels/guides and go over everything that happened in your life.  People report seeing their entire life as a sort of movie film in front of their eyes or on the pages of a book.  You may have to see some things that make you feel ashamed and like you failed, but this is not a time of judgment.  This is a time of review, and discussion about what needs to be improved upon as a soul.  After you see your whole life, you may come to an agreement with your guides to come back to Earth to work on things after a certain period of time in the spirit world.

7) You Don’t Want To Return

Whenn you die these 7 things happen to you

You feel such an overwhelming amount of peace and love that you don’t want to return.  You don’t have to worry about illness or earthly tasks.  You are boundless, safe, and free. No stress, no pain, and no suffering.

But remember, reincarnation may await you.  You may either volunteer to come back to help other souls on earth, you may NEED to come back to alleviate Karma, or you may choose to come back to evolve more as a soul and experience the richness of life.

Keep in mind, these are what thousands of people have been saying about their memories/experiences of the afterlife, and these conclusions are being drawn from forty years of professional work.  I personally confidently believe in the reality of such a process, as I think it makes the most sense and is well supported by evidence

That being said, there are people who report going to realms which resemble Hell where they see demons and other nasty things.  We can’t turn a blind eye to the reality of dark realms just because they may scare us.  Although Dr. Newton did not report any such findings, many people who have had NDEs have had very frightening experiences which had deterred them away from bad behaviour and inspired them to live better lives.

The main thing to take away from this, is that you are taken care of.  You are infinitely loved and will be looked after.  There is no death, only transition. You WILL get to reunite with the souls of loved ones, and you will experience magical realms. Peace, love, and serenity awaits. But so does accountability.  The destiny of your soul is related to your behaviour as a human being in this life.  That will be good news to some, and for others may inspire the desire to improve themselves.  Either way, we should be asking ourselves the following questions:

How am I treating other souls in this world? What am I doing to help myself and the people around evolve?

Live Your Life, Your Way

Life is like a road. There are long and short roads; smooth and rocky roads; crooked and straight paths. In our life many roads would come our way as we journey through life.

Live Your Life, Your Way

Life is like a road. There are long and short roads; smooth and rocky roads; crooked and straight paths. In our life many roads would come our way as we journey through life. There are roads that lead to a life of single blessedness, marriage, and religious vocation. There are also roads that lead to fame and fortune on one hand, or isolation and poverty on the other. There are roads to happiness as there are roads to sadness, roads towards victory and jubilation, and roads leading to defeat and disappointment.

Just like any road, there are corners, detours, and crossroads in life. Perhaps the most perplexing road that you would encounter is a crossroad. With four roads to choose from and with limited knowledge on where they would go, which road will you take? What is the guarantee that we would choose the right one along the way? Would you take any road, or just stay where you are: in front of a crossroad?

There are no guarantees.

You do not really know where a road will lead you until you take it. There are no guarantees. This is one of the most important things you need to realise about life. Nobody said that choosing to do the right thing all the time would always lead you to happiness. Loving someone with all your heart does not guarantee that it would be returned. Gaining fame and fortune does not guarantee happiness.

Accepting a good word from an influential superior to cut your trip short up the career ladder is not always bad, especially if you are highly qualified and competent. There are too many possible outcomes, which your really cannot control. The only thing you have power over is the decisions that you will make, and how you would act and react to different situations.

Wrong decisions are always at hindsight.

Had you known that you were making a wrong decision, would you have gone along with it? Perhaps not, why would you choose a certain path when you know it would get you lost? Why make a certain decision if you knew from the very beginning that it is not the right one. It is only after you have made a decision and reflected on it that you realize its soundness. If the consequences or outcomes are good for you, then you have decided correctly. Otherwise, your decision was wrong.

Take the risk: Decide.

Since life offers no guarantee and you would never know that your decision would be wrong until you have made it, then you might as well take the risk and decide. It is definitely better than keeping yourself in limbo. Although it is true that one wrong turn could get you lost, it could also be that such a turn could be an opportunity for an adventure, moreover open more roads. It is all a matter of perspective.

You have the choice between being a lost traveller or an accidental tourist of life. But take caution that you do not make decisions haphazardly. Taking risks is not about being careless and stupid. Here are some pointers that could help you choose the best option in the face of life’s crossroads: · Get as many information as you can about your situation.

You cannot find the confidence to decide when you know so little about what you are faced with. Just like any news reporter, ask the 5 W’s: what, who, when, where, and why. What is the situation? Who are the people involved? When did this happen? Where is this leading? Why are you in this situation? These are just some of the possible questions to ask to know more about your situation. This is important. Oftentimes, the reason for indecision is the lack of information about a situation.

· Identify and create options. What options do the situation give you? Sometimes the options are few, but sometimes they are numerous. But what do you do when you think that the situation offers no options? This is the time that you create your own. Make your creative mind work.

From the most simplistic to the most complicated, entertain all ideas. Do not shoot anything down when an idea comes to your head. Sometimes the most outrageous idea could prove to be the right one in the end. You can ask a friend to help you identify options and even make more options if you encounter some difficulty, but make sure that you make the decision yourself in the end.

Weigh the pros and cons of every option.

Assess each option by looking at the advantages and disadvantages it offers you. In this way, you get more insights about the consequences of such an option.

Trust yourself and make that decision.

Now that you have assessed your options, it is now time to trust yourself. Remember that there are no guarantees and wrong decisions are always at hindsight. So choose… decide… believe that you are choosing the best option at this point in time.

Now that you have made a decision, be ready to face its consequences: good and bad. It may take you to a place of promise or to a land of problems. But the important thing is that you have chosen to live your life instead of remaining a bystander or a passive audience to your own life. Whether it is the right decision or not, only time can tell. But do not regret it whatever the outcome. Instead, learn from it and remember that you always have the chance to make better decisions in the future. And be careful!

The Magic Of Believing In Yourself

The Magic Of Believing In Yourself ~ You believe even when you don't believe. It's not a question of whether or not you believe; it becomes a matter of what you are willing to believe.

The Magic Of Believing In Yourself

You are the writer, the director, the producer, and the star actor of your own show. Think of your life like a Broadway production. Do you want a standing ovation? Do you think it will be a box office disaster? Do you close the curtains every night because you’re afraid to go on stage? You decide and it all starts with believing in yourself.

What’s Belief got to do with it?

You believe even when you don’t believe. It’s not a question of whether or not you believe; it becomes a matter of what you are willing to believe. If you’ve spent much of your life dismissing your talents and doubting your capabilities, it can seem like an impossible goal to begin believing in yourself. Since believing in yourself is such a vital part of goal achievement, overcoming your doubt and disbelief is crucial if you want to make jaw-dropping leaps in your life.

Push beyond what you believe you are capable of. This can be quite daunting. It also will be a step in the direction of finding the belief in you. The assumptions you have about yourself are make-believe. You have simply accepted these assumptions as truth without proof. Recognize the possibilities in each situation. Challenge the assumptions and have an open mind to the possibility that you could be wrong!

Believing in you is one of the first steps to success. If you don’t have confidence in yourself, it will be difficult to succeed in anything.

You are doing a great disservice to yourself if you don’t believe in yourself.

I will tell you that every successful person you talk to has believed, to varying degrees that they COULD actually get to where they are today. There’s just something about believing that it’s possible to get what you want that makes things happen.

Beliefs are filters through which you create your reality. They must be held in your consciousness for a while before you begin to see the new result from the belief. Also whether a belief is true or not doesn’t matter. Having a belief that causes you to get more of what you want is important.

So where is your focus right now? Are you focused on the money that’s “Not” in your purse or are you focused that the universe is truly abundant and that you are entitled to a life filled with Beauty, Wealth & Success?

Design it whatever way you’d like.

Believing in yourself is simply a matter of shifting the way you think about yourself and your capabilities. Remember that negative thinking is a habit, whether it applies to you or the circumstances in your life.

You must be willing to put aside the self-imposed gibberish and accept for yourself a greater, more beautiful vision. You will become what you desire to be if you keep that vision in front of you and you make an undying commitment to just believe. Furthermore, if you don’t believe in yourself. How can you expect everyone else to? If you truly believe, whatever you believe you can do, you can do. Our negative or positive thoughts in our waking hours are implanted in our subconscious mind.

Do you realize the power of your subconscious mind?

This is one of the reasons I insist on a mindset makeover. The subconscious mind never sleeps and has no sense of right or wrong thinking. While you’re getting your beauty sleep it records your thoughts, beliefs and actions.

Make today the day you learn how to use your mind to help you achieve your goals. It sounds like hocus pocus but you know what its fail-proof! What you see in your mind’s “eye,” coupled with strong emotion and positive action is what you WILL receive sooner or later. How beautiful is that?

Embrace every opportunity that comes your way. It does not matter if you fall on your pretty little face or whether you think it’s even possible. The important thing is to promise yourself that you will overcome every obstacle. The worst thing to do to yourself is to assume you can’t do something before even trying. Tell yourself right now that any effort to do better is one of the most productive ways you can use your precious time.

With every success, whether large or small, the belief in yourself will grow. That will be the push you need to keep stepping outside your comfort zone and attain the goals you truly deserve.

May you always believe that you can have what your heart truly desires; yes it can feel like magic…
