Becoming a mother part 2…

Why choose material over life itself?

” As promised this is part 2 of Joanne’s multi-part story of what being a mother is all about. Once again she has searched her heart & mind physically, emotionally and spiritually to bring to you from her own true life experiences her own story in the hope that it will help “someone out there” to understand what being a mother is all about..

Joanne once again you have written something that takes a lot of courage to write & publish and should be very proud of. I’m very honoured to be able to call you my partner & friend.” ~ Steve Robinson.

Becoming a mother part 2... Why choose material over life itself? As promised this is part 2 of Joanne's multi-part story of what being a mother is all about.

I woke up one morning with the dawning realisation that I was supposed to get a job, go to work and support myself for the rest of my life and having a child on the way it was going to be much harder. And like most middle class kids, I tried to do what the system required of me.

Of course I worked part-time, but eventually having another child and having to buy more things… Yes buy things I wanted my children to have it all “who doesn’t”… but why? Well because all the role models around me advocated that kind of path, my parents in a strange way they tried their best my older brothers and sisters and then the partner of all my children.

It was the path of materialistic consumerism, of “want” and “buy”. Yes that’s the trap I was not born into but consequently “fell into”, that’s the road I started my journey off on. And I dread the trap I have set out for my children.

A World of Inspiration and a Little Extra.

It has been authored by my partner Joanne Wellington and written by her from the heart and her own life experiences.

I have had the honour and pleasure of reading the first two parts of Becoming a Mother and it is what I believe, to be a multi section topic/project of Joanne’s and am honoured to have her as both my partner and best friend.

Please take a look at the page… Becoming a Mother… you won’t regret it I promise. It’s a brilliant article written by a very intelligent, honest, spiritual and caring young lady…

Well done Joanne… so very proud of you!

“How much do you love your children? Because attracting the wrong people into their lives is on your head! meaning the type of friends and people you choose to be around you and your children” Kids how much do you love yours?

Kids how much do you love yours?

Setting the right foundations from the very beginning, from the moment they start watching you is so important, and continuing throughout as they grow.

It is an important part of our parenting involving making decisions making sure your children are not surrounded by the wrong type of people.

I mean come on your not stupid  you know what I mean  if you have major selfish ‘me me me’ drama kings  or queens around your children .. That is not taking responsibility is it!

Having responsibilities and having duties to perform in keeping our kids safe at all times is one of our main priorities.

Many times we judge the acts of others, How can we not judge!

My thoughts:

Can we look deeper within ourselves? Can we see that many times our judgements happen due to ourfinal
vested interest, when a personal desire goes unfulfilled? If the very same situation would had happened to someone else, then perhaps we may not have judged it the way we did. However when the mind experiences a personal loss, then it is quick to judge, have you noticed this? Many times we judge the acts of others, yet when the same act is committed by us, we are completely accepting of ourselves. This happens to the best of us – this is ego and attachment at play…Read more >>>>Many times we judge the acts of others, How can we not judge!.

Have you ever noticed that when you enter a room with a bunch of people, you can instantly feel the energy of the environment? Whether the energy is positive or negative, your mood is very likely to get influenced by it. Each and every interaction we have with the outside world influences our mind. The mind turns relatively negative when in the midst of negative energy, and it turns relatively positive when in the midst of positive energy.
